About the Art Contest

Thank you so much for your interest in participating in State Representative Abdelnasser Rashid's 2nd Annual Art Contest. This competition was created to recognize the talents of our young local artists throughout the district while also encouraging them to think about contemporary topics surrounding them. Continue reading for all the information/details on how to participate and submit your artwork.

Eligibility/Rules (Must meet all the following requirements to apply)

  • Must be K-5th grade student

  • Must live in the 21st district

  • Must submit an original piece

Theme

This theme invites artists to capture their own creative transformative journey towards a healthier and happier life. This could be through personal growth, reflecting the diverse aspects of physical, emotional, mental well-being, and any form of health and wellness.

Accepted Mediums

  • Paintings, Drawings, or Graphic Art

  • Collages

  • Prints

  • Photography

  • Mixed Media: Using several of the above mentioned mediums

We admire and respect all forms of art but can only accommodate for wall hanging pieces at this time! Thank you for understanding.

Submission Deadline

Submissions OPEN: September 13th, 2024

Submissions CLOSE: November 17th at 11:59 PM

To enter, a student must send the attached privacy form and complete the google form with a high-quality photo of their piece. Our panel of judges will consider each piece and will decide the contest winners.

Note: You may fill it in electronically, however, the signatures must be physically signed.

Prizes

  • Top Contestant: Artwork will be displayed outside the Representative’s Springfield office

  • 2nd - 4th Runner-ups: Artwork will be displayed within the Representative’s District Office, located in Berwyn, IL
